How to make French Fries

French fries, also known as chips or fries, are a popular and beloved side dish made from thinly sliced potatoes that are fried until crispy and golden brown. They are a staple in many fast food restaurants and can be enjoyed as a snack or a side dish with burgers, sandwiches, or hot dogs.

Here's a recipe for making homemade French fries:

Ingredients:

4 large potatoes (russet or Idaho)

2-3 cups of vegetable oil or canola oil

Salt to taste

Instructions:

Peel the potatoes and cut them into long thin strips of equal size. Soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes (this will help remove excess starch and make them crispy).

Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels.

In a deep saucepan or a deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).

Once the oil is hot, add the potato strips to the oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for 4-5 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the fries from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Sprinkle the fries with salt and serve immediately.

Enjoy your delicious homemade French fries!
